Beatrice Tulagan

Fellow | Climate change communications, Organizing and Campaigning

Beatrice is a climate organizer and writer based in Manila, Philippines. She got her start in the climate movement after being awarded a fellowship as the Youth Advocate for Climate Change by the United Nations Development Programme in the Philippines to attend the 20th UNFCCC Conference of Parties in Lima, Peru. She was formerly Policy Research and Advocacy Director of The Climate Reality Project - Philippines. In 2018, Beatrice founded and launched Climate Stories, which sought to produce content on climate change as experienced by communities on the frontlines in hopes of fulfilling the gaps in the climate change narrative. Climate Stories is now transitioning to Kaya, a youth-led non-profit bridging movements for climate and social justice, with the understanding that pro-planet solutions have to be pro-people at its core as well.

Beatrice was also an Environmental and Climate Justice media fellow for FRIDA The Young Feminist Fund and Open Global Rights in 2019. She is concurrently the East Asia Regional Organizing Specialist for 350.org, an international non-profit aiming to build a global grassroots climate movement that can hold our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice.
